I had my expectations for my father with this purchase in mind…There’s really nothing “wrong” with the ergonomics and cutting power of this battery-powered fillet knife.My biggest complain despite my dad -is the battery pack. The way it attaches to completely over-engineered and difficult to use straight out of the box. The release buttons are too (depressed) contoured to easily eject the batter pack. The battery pack and base connection allow for an incorrect contact, if done incorrectly. This unit suffers from what I believe is a non-needed patent/patent-pending design.Couple this with my 80 y.o. dad’s capable, yet heavily arthritic fingers -it just didn’t work out. Everything was perfect except for the ejection process of the battery pack. I even modified the release buttons to provide him with more leverage -but he became frustrated -and I was too. This was after 45-minutes of trying to figure out the best way for my dad to handle and remove the battery packThat being said -this will not deter me from purchasing the 110v plug-in unit.Please understand my rating was solely based on the difficulty that surrounds the battery pack related functionality.Bubba, you’re not getting bashed here -but work needs to be done to fix the ease of use regarding your battery pack on your next design.

This is a no-brainer for any fisherman – updateI don’t normally get impressed with knives, fixed blade, folders, filet – any of them.Have always used a breaking blade for most if not all my fishing cleaning requirements. Then we saw a gent out at the Washington coast just going to town on salmon and groundfish, without missing a beat with a battery operated filet knife! It was this Bubba electric knife. So I ordered one, it has changed the way I clean fish. Not only does it do a great job of fileting, it backskins even rainbow trout (with that really thin skin). I had a bunch of Mister Twister blades and they fit right in. A little cheaper than the Bubba blades, and when they wear out or I can’t sharpen them anymore I will switch over entirely to the Bubba blades.This is one knife I would absolutely recommend for any type of fishing – the Li-ion battery has gone through some 100 fish and still shows 3 of 4 charging bars! Can’t beat those results.The grip is a little big and the trigger fit is something to get used to but is not a deal breaker. There is mucho fishing to do, lots of fish to clean, and this knife is just a pleasure. Now, with this long winded tome – I’m getting this rascal ready to carve Turkey tomorrow.Enjoy your knife!!!I purchased my knife on August 2020 and have not been disappointed at all, until this evening. One set of the blades would not extract despite my best efforts. I looked under the warranty description and it didn’t appear jammed blades would be covered. So, down to the shop I went. Disassembly is not for the faint of heart but it was enlightening – the knife failed because of some really CHEAP locking mechanism – infuriating how this expensive knife would fail simply because somebody cut corners on parts quality. Guess someone got a big bonus for using cheap parts. “Web-only resale businesses (example: Amazon, eBay, or other similar websites) are NOT authorized dealers” – pretty much VOIDS any expectation of quality related issues, like a jammed blade.By the time you purchase an extra battery, along with the knife, the numbers just don’t add up to buy another different Li-Ion knife – the batteries aren’t compatible – go figure.I use this knife every time I go fishing so it has seen lots of use, NOT abuse. It is a dream to use. This little part is not significant enough to prevent me from ordering another. It’s just another example of why companies have units assembled in China, Vietnam or any third world country to save money on quality parts.One balances use vs money and at least I have gotten my use from the unit, regardless of the disappointment in discovering a cheap little part will cost me another $125 + to buy another. The convenience is just worth it in my mind – now I just have a bunch of spare parts should I ever need them. Pretty pathetic – but all that said, I’m buying another and would recommend this knife as on of the best I have ever used.

Charging port location Awesome knifeI received my knife well packaged good feel runs like a dream filleted four thick 18 inch walleye with precision!! Only complaint is the charging port being on the bottom of the battery – It’s not perfectly flat – if you try to set the knife up fight fully charged the knife will fall over in upright position if you try to stand it on the battery – Call me picky or OCD but the bottom of the battery should be flat So easy to design the port on the Knob of the battery and make the bottom flat so the knife stands up and is not laying in all your fish slime – just saying it takes takes up a lot less room on your cleaning station if it could stand upright Thank you for reading.

Thicker than expectedOverall impressed with the knife so far. Came in a really nice carrying case. Excited to try it out on some fish. Seems to be great power. Not many electric knifes come with good quality batteries like this one, which is great, especially if you do off-grid fishing excursions like we do. The knife was quite thicker than what I expected. I thought with this quality of knife it should have been a more similar shape to a regular kitchen knife. It seems a bit awkward to hold onto but I wont know for sure until we get it out filleting. Look closely at the pictures of the knife diameter size compared to the mans hand in the pictures. Great variety of blades. Came really sharp. Shipping was fast even very close to Christmas.

Best electric knife I’ve ever had4 sets of blades, blades are amazingly flexible. Battery life is out of the chart and you got 2!!! The grip on the rubber handle is awesome. Did fillet big walleyes and laker as long as small perch. Perfect fillets. Looks like the fish fillet at the store. love it!
