ANATOMY OF A PELICAN CASE
Ultimate Equipment Protection
For over 30 years Pelican has built a reputation for manufacturing the toughest cases in the world. As a matter of fact, we invented the category. Over these years we’ve seen our cases used for some fairly crazy activities…and important ones too.
Pelican Cases have been thrown out of helicopters in Iraq, floated through frigid fjords in Norway and rolled over by SUVs in Tanzania. With only a few scratches to show on the outside, contents inside are left unscathed. These are minor details for major bragging rights. And that is really what it’s all about. Getting your gear from point A to point B in the condition it’s meant to be in: intact and functional. Because it might contain a large format camera that will shoot next month’s magazine cover or a heart defibrillator that could save a person’s life, you can’t put a price on it.
Stronger by Design
Pelican Cases are made with a proprietary combination of homo co-polymers, using an open cell core and solid wall construction, which is stronger and lighter than a solid core wall. Stainless steel pins are used in hinges and handles.
Stainless steel hasp protectors are a Pelican exclusive. The Double-Throw latches are smarter and easier to open: it’s the classic “C” clamp design with a secondary movement that works like a pry bar to start the release and offers plenty of leverage to open with a light pull.
The secret is the tongue and groove fit with a polymer o-ring acting as a waterproof seal.
Custom engraved nameplates are available for a nominal fee.
Cool Under Pressure
Automatic Pressure Equalization Valve releases built-up air pressure while keeping water molecules out, resulting in a watertight case that is even easier to open.
Reinforced Padlock Protectors
Stainless steel reinforced padlock protectors provide added strength and extra security against cutting and theft.
Stainless steel ball bearing wheels last longer and ride smoother. The nylon hub adjacent to the stainless steel is made to resist heat. The result is less wear and tear on the polyurethane wheel.

Great product, check the sizeIt’s a pelican case, nothing negative to say here. Just make sure this is the right size you are looking for. The case is extremely small. Pictures make it appear a lot larger.
This thing is durable.I’ve been using this case for a first-aid kit and it’s been great! It is definitely waterproof, and has more than enough space to fit all of the items I need it to. Even for being thick plastic, it’s pretty light. The foam is great for keeping items from rattling around inside. The latches hold tight which can make it somewhat difficult to open.

awesome case!I am a whitewater kayaker spending about 130+ days a year paddling. This case gets a TON of use in my pfd for holding my replacement GoPro batteries. Waterproof and just an awesome case. Highly highly recommend.

Great for the boat.Good quality !!
A little smaller than I expectedI got this for a glass piece and while it was my fault for not accounting for the foam taking away area/needing to get a slightly larger option. I definitely was not expecting the size I got to be so small. It’s well built and clearly sturdy but I’m not sure what you would need something this small for. Otherwise it’s a cool device, just make sure to measure and get one slightly larger than you need

Ordering direct takes soooooo long. Order thought a site like thisEveryone like a study box
The very best in this product line. The production values are of the highest, I have dealt with the competitors and they are good but not the best quality as we see in Pelican.I have carried a portable hard drive around for fifteen years in a Pelican case and it has come to no harm, these products exist in a world where the word ‘overengineered’ is a positive and not a negative. The extra price is worth it if your items are worth protecting. I am as proud of my purchase today as I was in 2007.
Pelican using single layer pre-cut foam as insert.Pelican has been left behind when it comes to the foam insert they put into this small container. Modern foam inserts are multi-layered, allowing for easy and precise cutting out to the depth required. Pelican’s advice is to tear out the entire depth of the foam columns, then cut the chunk you just ripped out, to the depth required and glue the foam back in. This is very old school and surprising for what should be a high-end product. Go look for “Kaizen Foam” and you will immediately understand how Pelican has missed the boat on this product’s foam insert. The plastic case is very nice, but the insert is a mess to work with.
