The massive tree fell and this hammock’s carabiner held the weight.No joke. So this hammock was one of our sheltered-at-home pandemic purchases. I had low expectations as most of my hammocks over the years have fizzled pretty quick. Wow. Wise Owl makes an exceptional hammock. Super comfy. Super strong. How strong? A few weeks ago, California was flooding in an atmospheric storm. Our property was hit hard. Wr lost four trees including a 82-foot pine this hammock was secured to on one end. On the other end was an oak about 25 feet tall and upslope a bit from the pine. On New Year’s Eve, winds here hit 50 mph sustained and gusts over 75. The pine was mostly dead, but the hill just couldn’t hold any more water and the entire 82-foot pine came down — totally uprooted out of the Earth. When I came out the next morning to inspect the damage, the hammock was still in rock solid shape if stretched out a bit. It didn’t even fray. The seals were solid as ever. The carabiner stretched out as you can see in this photo, but it was still holding the weight of the tree that came down. The straps around the oak carved an inch deep into the tree with all that weight on the other end, but they held. No straps broke or frayed even the slightest. I had to use a knife to cut it off. Unbelievable how strong Wise Owl’s straps and carabiners are, and how durable their hammocks. And yes — super comfy. They’re worth 3 or 4 times their cost. I just bought another two.

Easy set up, fun! Lightweight this is my first hammock ever and I always thought it would be complicated to hang it like setting up a tent ⛺️ the old school tents. I kid you not without any instructions in the hammock i had it hanging in 2 minutes including brainstorming and just because we were not sure how high to put it on the palm tree 🌴 plus on the first tree there was an ant 🐜 farm so we moved one end to another tree but then a sign was in the way. Oh well we just wanted to try it out. When i was ready to take it down after sunset, it took me 47 seconds from me getting out of it, to the hammock being in my car ready to go (not in its miniature bag though). Good feature to have in case a predator is about to attack or a sudden rain storm shows up without any invitation or warning.Loop the strap around the tree, place the end of the strap that has several smaller loops on it into the end where is only one big loop, then pull the strap to the opposite direction to wrap it around the tree again towards the other direction, i looped into the big loop again to keep it tight then clicked the hammock into the desired small loop at the other end of the strap that was hanging in my hand connecting the strap to the hammock. Repeat the other side and ready to hang and relax.Pros: Easy set up,lightweight, holds up 500 pounds, have not tested the weight capacity.Gorgeous colorsCons: don’t know yet.Hammock and straps come in the package 📦 2 items.Make sure when you receive them, to put the black straps that are rolled up together into the tiny bag of the hammock just push it in there somehow, or else you will misplace it like my friend did and she didn’t have her straps and couldn’t hang her hammock. Now she has to go look for the straps and she can’t remember having them at all. Happy camping! Ps I love the color! I have the turquoise/grey and the colors are vibrant and fun!

Excellent Quality Hammock!Received this a couple of weeks ago, took it out, looked at it and set it up for the first time. I have other camping hammocks from an assortment of other brands – From the hammock to the straps everything from the stitching in the two provided tree straps as well as the hammock I am extremely pleased with the sturdiness and quality. If I had to hunt for a downside, I would ask for the stuff sack to be a tad bigger- Is that a problem? No not for me. I am Very happy with this product. IF I need to replace one of my other hammocks it will be with a Wise Owl, for the price and quality really there are no better options.

Sturdy hammock!From the looks of this thing…you wouldn’t think it would be sturdy or hold up well! These specific hammocks are amazing! I purchased for my children to use while camping. They love them! I can’t remember the exact weight limit but I know it’s a decent amt…250lbs maybe. Well I had to test it out. I’m not a skinny girl…short and chubby weighing 210lbs. I was super scared to try it even though I was under the weight limit. I sat in it slowly and it held me, so I was amazed. Well, I then laid in it and it continued to impress me! So I had to take a nap in it! I slept like a baby for 3 hrs in this thing! Not a single rip or tear! It was so comfortable too! I have never even been in a hammock like this until this one came into my life! We all love it and it’s definitely worth the price. I love how it rolls up nicely to go back in the attached bag also! Buy it…you won’t be disappointed!

great hammock for campingThis hammock is a great deal. Easy to put together, sturdy, dries quick. It packs into a small bag so it is easy to store in your backpack. Mine got wet a couple of times in the rain, and dried fast due to the material.

Sturdy and ConvenientThis hammock was great for my camping trips. Once it’s folded into the storage bag (which is attached to the hammock) it is pretty small and can be stored just about anywhere. It is very convenient for traveling since it doesn’t take up hardly any space. I used it after simply tying the straps around a couple of trees and I didn’t have any issues. It held the weight and movement just fine. However, I bought the two-person style and I recommend it even for just one person, it provides more space to move around.

Great hammockGreat hammock easy to set up and pack away , nice long straps as well with 3 different points to clip to for adjustments.It’s only downfall would be no mosquito netting as for around the same price you can get one with a net so if you live in the uk like me or a place with bugs that will bite you go for a netted one other wise this hammock is great

Nice!! BAD in rain thoughI’ve tried out a few hammocks before, but for some reason this one is one of the more comfier ones. Ususally the edges are very tight and hurt if your legs are over the edge, but this 2P hammock feels really nice. Very spacious and it does not fold in on itself when you’re inside like other may.The strap with this are great and easy to put on. Love it!I need a bug net and a tarp with this——–UPDATE:The hammock straps/carabiners are NOT good when it rains. Water will run down the tree and onto the strap. The water will then flow down the strap and eventually onto the hammock. I was laying in the hammock under a tarp (not provided by them) and after a while my back was feeling cold. I realized the entire thing was soaked.My friend’s hammock was dry, not a Wise Owl Hammock. What I did was take a piece of string and tie a knot on the carabiners with loose ends of the knot hanging down. That way, when the water ran down the strap and onto the carabiners, the water would then go onto the string/rope and drip off, rather than continuing down and soaking the hammock.
